Mary Oliver Saved by the Beauty of the World airs nationally tonight on PBS

After a wildly successful (top 2 or 3 grossing docs in 2026) theatrical run (and still in many theaters) Mary Oliver… will air nationally tonight, Aug 25th on PBS American Masters. It’s been quite incredible, and yet not surprising, seeing how moved people are by this film. Mary’s life and words are absolutely what people need right now. The original motion picture score is available if you’d like to listen or purchase, at Bandcamp here.

We’ll leave you with one of our favorite Mary Oliver Poems:

“I Worried”

I worried a lot. Will the garden grow, will the rivers
flow in the right direction, will the earth turn
as it was taught, and if not how shall
I correct it?

Was I right, was I wrong, will I be forgiven,
can I do better?

Will I ever be able to sing, even the sparrows
can do it and I am, well,
hopeless.

Is my eyesight fading or am I just imagining it,
am I going to get rheumatism,
lockjaw, dementia?

Finally I saw that worrying had come to nothing.
And gave it up. And took my old body
and went out into the morning,
and sang.

Joseph Pulitzer Airing Nationally on PBS THIS Friday!

We are thrilled to announce that “Joseph Pulitzer: Voice of the People” will be airing nation-wide on PBS “American Masters”. We have gotten so much positive feedback from people seeing the film in theaters, both on the film itself, but also on the score. This makes us happy. We do believe that music in film should absolutely support what’s happening on screen and in the story of the characters it’s scoring, but also it should be good music on it’s own, just simply coming out of speakers. I know many do not agree with us and feel music for film should be of more the “invisible” variety. But, I bet if you go back to your absolute favorite films in life and play the scores, it will be real music that does indeed stand on it’s own.

Anyway, enjoy the film, check your local PBS station, I believe it’s 9pm in most regions.
