Out on Sony Classics Dec 30th.
“Turn Every Page” will come out in theaters via Sony Classics on December 30th. Get ready to adore this film. It’s undeniably great.
CANCELLED, WE GOT COVID… ugggg
We used to have a band called Clare & The Reasons, made some records and toured the world. We then settled down to have a family and were lucky enough to start scoring (which we adore), the perfect thing for (mostly) working from home. We will be playing some old songs by our band Clare & the Reasons, and some new songs, at the Old Dutch Church in Kingston NY (truly our favorite room) Friday Sept 23rd. 6:40pm. Michael Arthur will be drawing us live and a doc called “Hello, Bookstore” will be screening after. Get your $11 (wow!!) tickets in advance here An Upstate Films Night, in association with Rough Draft Bookstore.
And the New York Times gives it a rave. So happy this film is living such a full life.
The premiere was magical, and on top of it all- Sony Pictures Classics bought it! It will have a beautiful theatrical release. The best outcome for any labor of love. Congrats to all who worked so hard on it for nearly 7 years! Director Lizzie Gottlieb, producers Joanne Nerenberg, Jen Small and Maria Zuckerman. Editors Kristen Nutile and the great Molly Bernstein (who brought us on as composers, we worked with her on Ricky Jay). Here is an announcement at Variety.
Turn Every Page premiered at Tribeca last night to a packed house, filled with laughter and tears… It was magical, through and through!
Without fearless director, Lizzie Gottlieb
The whole gang, including Robert Caro and Robert Gottlieb!
A film we truly love is getting its perfect introduction to the world, at Tribeca. “Turn Every Page” is a fascinating, witty, and intimate documentary about the 50+ year working relationship between Robert Caro and Robert Gottlieb. It’s brilliantly directed by Lizzie Gottlieb. The premiere on June 12th is now sold out, but there are 2 other screenings at Tribeca that week, you must see it!
We had so much fun making some songs for the new Nick Cage film "The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent". Thank you to director Tom Gormican and music editor Erica Weis! We have 3 spots in the film with our music in it including the last scene and the end credits. such a FUN FUN FUN movie! Go see it! You can buy 2 of the songs in the purchase music section of this site. They are called Petit Edgar and 12 Suns.
Have been busy scoring beautiful films for the new Graff campaign. Here is a teaser. Shot in Sri Lanka. There are 7 spots which will be rolled out starting April 21st 2022. Thank you to Susan Stone and The Style Counsel in Paris for asking us to join the team.
We are thrilled that Polydor / Universal France is releasing the epic soundtrack to “En Attendant Bojangles”. Streaming, CD and DOUBLE VINYL!! More info here.
So exquisitely crafted by Regis Roinsard, "En Attendant Bojangles" comes out tomorrow in theaters.
The score is made beautiful by the musicians who played on it, they are the life and blood that gives the music so much feeling. We were able to do some early cues in a room with others pre pandemic, but most of it was done all remote, which was challenging but also incredibly rewarding and connecting. And now, we shall list these noble creatures here. What a stellar, world class cast of music makers. Seeing all their names together; we are dumbstruck, awestruck, gobsmacked, in anaphylactic shock by the talents. We are the luckiest. We shall call them the Super Star Symphony.

We also had such an incredible experience working with film editor Loïc Lallemand, ideas flowed back and forth so easily between Regis, Loïc, and ourselves, a true team.
We feel a real kinship/friendship with music supervisor Astrid Gomez-Montoya, she always knows how to find the best way forward, creatively and practically.

We are thrilled to be contributing the score to a fascinating new film about two proven geniuses Robert Caro and Robert Gottlieb. They have worked together for 50 years and this film looks at that very unique and historically significant working relationship, sometimes turbulent, always loyal and always fruitful. You can read about the making of this film and more from it’s director, Lizzie Gottlieb here.

This was a fun one! Olivier and I wrote the music for this new Guerlain AD campaign. Vive la France! Directed by the spectacular Inez & Vinoodh! Music supervision by Susan Stone.
Fun little bit of news that a film we scored, “Hysterical Girl”, is on the shortlist for an Academy Award nomination. This is a such a great film that was brilliantly directed by Kate Novack. You can watch the film now on the New York Times website. The film was set to premiere at the SXSW Film Festival in 2020 but of course, Covid had other plans. The New York Times picked up the film and it’s made it so lots of people can see it. It’s the story of Freud’s only female subject matter and it’s a powerful message, taking Freud down from his throne
We’ve released more songs to donate 100% of the proceeds to various organizations, including our local food pantry. What a year. We hope you and yours are safe and healthy. Gratitude knows no bounds, on our end, these days. Please visit one of our band camp pages to make a donation. https://clareandthereasons.bandcamp.com
We have some French songs in the new Netflix show called “Emily in Paris”. You can find them under our French material band name Sleeping on all streaming platforms. Enjoy!
During this surreal time we are so happy to have the orchestral phase of this beautiful, heart wrenching film to pour ourselves into. What an honor to be a part of such a magical movie. Directed by Régis Roinsard and starting Romain Duris and Virginie Efira. We’ll share pictures of recording all these extraordinary musicians.
We are thrilled to announce the release of “Who’s Gonna Throw The Punch” featuring our kids Gustave (5) and Ernestine (3) 100% of the proceeds will go to our local food pantry called People’s Place in Kingston NY. There are some serious heavy hitters playing on this track, and a gorgeous, mournful music video. The track is available for purchase on Bandcamp. It’s the debut track of Manchon Family Band.
When this pandemic became very real Olivier and I got busy in the studio creating a song that would provide a sense of escape, both for us and the listener. We released “Toute Ma Vie” and have given 100% of the proceeds to a food pantry in our home town, Kingston NY from day 1, and will continue.
Please consider purchasing this song, for a good cause, and a good listen-
